Exposition Text

Understanding the structure of a text or sentence is an important part of learning English. Besides aiming to enrich knowledge, mastering the form of text can make it easier for us to write and speak in English.

One form of text is Analytical Exposition Text. Analytical Exposition Text is included in the Argumentation Text type, where the text describes the author's detailed thoughts about an event or events that are around.

In language, "Analytical" means examining or testing something carefully. And "Exposition" has a broad explanatory meaning. So, literally, Analytical Exposition is a text that tries to provide a comprehensive or comprehensive explanation of a problem by carefully presenting supporting opinions.

Linguistic Structure

1. Thesis

As with other types of text in general, a thesis contains the author's view of a problem in a simple manner. This section is an introduction to the topic or main idea to be discussed. The thesis is always in the first paragraph of the Analytical Exposition Text.

2. Series of Argument

This section contains some further explanations from the simple explanation of the thesis. In this section the writer presents arguments or opinions that support the main idea of ​​the author. The more arguments that are presented, the more readers will believe that the topic being discussed is an important topic. It is better if this section presents the opinion of the experts.

3. Conclusion / Reiteration

This section is the closing part which is always located at the end of the paragraph which contains rewriting or repositioning of the main ideas contained in the first paragraph.

Communicative Purpose

The main objective in Analytical Exposition Text is to try to convince the reader that the topic presented is an important topic to discuss or get attention by providing arguments or opinions that support the main idea or topic. In Analytical Exposition Text it does not contain only one argument, but can contain several arguments that have the same purpose. You can find examples easily in news editorials, ad / advertisement text, flyers, and so on.

Thesis 

How much do you drink water today? Water is often considered insignificant but behind it all, it turns out that water has important functions for our body. There are several reasons why you should drink enough water. Firstly, interstitial fluid is obtained by drinking lots of water. Water is used by the body to digest food and help transport nutrients throughout the body. In addition, interstitial fluid is also useful for producing saliva and regulating body temperature.

Arguments 

The second reason is that it helps kidney work. Our kidney processes 200 liters of blood in our body every day. It also filters out waste and delivers urine to the bladder. To do all the tasks, our kidney needs enough water because water is used to clean anything that is unnecessary for our body. Furthermore, drinking water can moisturize our skin. It makes our skin feel fresh, soft, bright and smooth.

Reitaration 

Additionally, drinking enough water every day can also improve the function of our brain. It can help us to concentrate more and unlease the nervous system in the brain. In conclusion, drinking water is important because it is needed for our interstitial fluid, helps kidney work, is good for healty skin, and improves the function of our brain.
